Gaafu Alifu Atoll is famed for its rich, diverse marine life and is considered one of the best places in the Maldives offering plenty of experiences to cherish for a lifetime. SuvaDiva Divers, the PADI certified dive center at the resort,  will show you the sharks, sea turtles, and rays that inhabit the vast blue lagoon.

If you are an absolute novice, our scuba divers team will teach you the skills you need, before taking you to the area’s greatest dive sites.

Prefer to stay near the surface? Join a snorkeling expedition to the edge of the house reef – or just plunge into the clear, temperate waters from your villa!

Board a traditional Maldivian dhoni boat for a morning or evening dolphin-watching cruise. Your captain will navigate to known habitats of bottlenose and spinner dolphins. Take a sunset fishing cruise where you can angle for grouper and snapper using traditional bait and hand reels. You’ll experience traditional Maldivian culture firsthand on a visit to a local island, with demonstrations of cooking and craft-making. The neighboring islands are Villingili, Mamendhoo and Maamutaa.

Mercure Maldives Kooddoo offers a host of other experiences that include water sport options, from kayaking, sailing and stand up paddling to jet skis and fun tubes. Pristine coral-sand beaches and calm, clear waters make the island a paradise for swimmers. You may borrow a pair of fins and snorkelling gears form the Dive Centre and go snorkelling from the comfort of your villa around the house reef.
